Musician & Music Educator
A Bit About Me
I am a Huddersfield-based musician who has experience in performance, musicology, music education, and music analysis. I have been playing the trumpet since the age of 8 and have studied under many well-known trumpeters during my time at the Royal Birmingham Junior Conservatoire and the University of Huddersfield.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Huddersfield where I achieved a first-class BMus (Hons) degree. Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, I was performing on a regular basis with the university's brass band and symphonic wind orchestra alongside many performances and contests with other brass bands alongside doing various session work. I am currently studying MMus Musicology at the University of Huddersfield.
Outside of my education, I currently play for Horbury Victoria Brass Band which has a rich schedule of concerts and contests. Recently, I have begun doing many remote recordings for both brass band contests and multi-track recordings for various songs and projects. The most recent examples of these can be seen on my ‘Portfolio’ page.
I have been working as a music educator since 2020. I currently offer instrumental lessons in trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn as well as music theory lessons. I have an enhanced DBS qualification alongside various safeguarding and online safety training. For more information on music tuition services please visit the 'Services' page.
